Amit Somani is the Chief Strategy and Growth Officer at Yahsat, the UAE’s flagship satellite solutions provider.

Amit oversees the formulation and implementation of Yahsat’s growth strategy in addition to spearheading its global strategic partnerships and alliances.

He has over 27 years of experience in the technology and communications sectors, spanning both operations and strategy, including with leading management consulting firms across the globe.  Having spent the past 15 years in the sector, he is a veteran of the satellite industry.  He previously worked at Yahsat between 2010 to 2022, prior to joining ABS, a global satellite operator, as CEO and subsequently rejoined Yahsat in April 2024.  He held various roles during his previous tenure at Yahsat, including Chief Strategy Officer from 2014.  

Amit’s achievements during his prior stint with Yahsat included a remarkable contribution in leading a successful IPO and listing Yahsat on ADX in 2021. He also played a critical role in driving Yahsat’s international portfolio diversification and growth story.

Amit graduated from the University of Nottingham in the UK with a Masters in Electronic Engineering with French and also earned an Executive Masters of Business Administration (EMBA) from London Business School.
