Yahsat Cleared for Deployment by US Government Procurement Agency

Al Yah Satellite Communications Company PrJSC (Yahsat), a private joint stock company fully owned by Mubadala, today announced official registration on the U.S. General Services Administration GSA-Schedules for the provision of its military Ka-band satellite communications to U.S. government agencies through Boeing Commercial Satellite Services.

Yahsat’s YahSecure service delivers highly secure and reliable satellite communications capacity for military, government, and mission critical operations in Africa, Middle East, Europe and Asia. Through collaboration with Boeing Commercial Satellite Services, a unit of The Boeing Company, US government agencies can now procure YahSecure via the official GSA Schedule procurement system. This is the first approval by the U.S. government for the supply of military Ka-band capacity, authorizing YahSecure’s advanced satellite communications offering for government and military use.

Rashed Al Ghafri, General Manager for YahService at Yahsat, said: “This is a major milestone for Yahsat in establishing our business as a leading operator in the global communications industry. YahSecure services are specifically designed to provide the security and reliability required by military and government operations, and to have this verified by our collaborator Boeing as well as the US Government is a critical step in our strategy for success. It gives us a strong foothold for accessing government contract opportunities in this highly competitive market.”

U.S. government customers, including the Department of Defense – US DoD, can now procure capacity lease contracts for YahSecure Ka-band satellite services under Boeing’s GSA Schedule registration.
